Walter Matta is Senior Manager at Leonardo SpA and Full Professor of Information Technology at Link Campus University.
Graduated in Electrical Engineering at the University of Cagliari in 1994, after some 
experiences at the CNR (National Council of Research) and the University of Cagliari, he joined Vitrociset SpA., covering roles of increasing responsibility (Technical Leader, Project/Program Manager, Head of International Organizations Area, Scientific Director of S3log, Head of Corporate R&D Center, Director of Strategy, Innovation & Government Funding). Since 2022 he has been Vice-President in the CTIO area of Leonardo’s Electronics Division.
He holds and/or has held various national and international positions: member of the boards of directors of EOS – European Organization for Security and ECSO – European Cyber Security Organization, Co-chair of the SFT group – Critical Soft Target and Critical Infrastructure Protection, as well as vice president of the Aerospace District of Sardinia and member of various committees and councils. He is an independent expert on MUR (Ministry of University and Research), MISE (Ministry of Economic Development) and EDA (European Defence Agency).
He is coordinator and scientific supervisor of numerous international research projects, and author of several articles and publications.
